7 Day of the Dead Crafts on Pinterest

Today we are celebrating Día de Muertos (the Day of the Dead) here in Mexico.  It's very different from Halloween, although the dates and the theme seem to overlap quite a bit.  If you want to find out more about it, have a look at these two posts: The Day of the Dead: 7 Reasons to Experience it and The Day of the Dead in Pictures.  I also totally recommend the Disney film Coco, if you haven't already seen it, which is all about the Day of the Dead.

This year I've been inspired by all the amazing activities I've found on Pinterest to do a round up of some of the best Day of the Dead crafts to recreate some of the most important elements of this unique Mexican celebration.  You can find all of these ideas and much more on my Pinterest board for everything related to the Day of the Dead.

Here you can find the all-important sugar skulls (and try out the recipe for real, edible sugar skulls at the end), skeletons, gorgeously colourful papel picado decorations, and altares de muertos that will fit in any space, no matter how small.
