I felt like sharing a poem; one of my favourites. I love how short it is; the poet says everything in just a few words, four lines. It speaks of the experience of migration and changing cultures and languages.
I hope you like it too. Maybe I'll make this a regular feature.

This is an interesting quote/poem and I can relate as I too have crossed the ocean and started a new life here in the UK.

I like the way the poem expresses the changes we go through in the process of starting a new life overseas. Thanks for commenting!
DeleteI'm not a traveler, although I wish I was! I'd love to experience what it's like to engulf myself in a new culture and see the world from a new perspective. Very interesting quote! #candidcuddles
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment! Glad you found it interesting.
DeleteI think this sums things up nicely! I once heard another quote about moving to a new country and it was talking about your children having a different voice from you. That one really struck a cord with me as I moved from the US to Ireland so it's still English speaking but my kids all have Irish accents & don't sound like me. There certainly is a lot to moving to a new country. Thanks so much for sharing with #candidcuddles x
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you weren't originally from Ireland. I wonder about my daughter, when she finally starts speaking English (hopefully she will!) will she speak it with the same accent as me? Or will she have a Mexican accent? Or will she end up with a more American accent, which is the dominant form of English here? Only time will tell. Thanks for hosting!
